My name is Christian Klenz. I am from Long Beach, California, where I attended high school. I am now pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering from the University of California, Irvine.
After graduating from UCI, I plan to pursue a Master's degree in Aerospace Engineering, with a focus on either propulsion or structuralengineering.
I am a passionate engineer who loves to learn, explore, and create. My personal hobbies include 3D printing, 3D modeling, and reading about space and the different inventions that have taken us there and will take us there in the future.
Proficient with equipment, including basic equipment like drills, saws, levels, measuring devices, and other such items. Along with experience with equipment like a drill press, miter saw, bandsaw, belt sander, 3-axis mill, 3D printers, and laser cutters.
Proficient in the methods used to manufacture carbon fiber composites, including prepreg carbon fiber, as well as infusion and wet layup methods
Proficient in the computer-aided design software SolidWorks. Knowledgeable in file conversion for use in 3D printing and laser cutting.
Proficient in the software MATLAB or Matrix Laboratory, with knowledge of data analysis, built-in functions, and user-defined functions. Also, basic knowledge of Python through Visual Code Studio or VS Code, and experience with the use of Arduino IDE.
Advanced skills in soldering, wire cutting, stripping, and other manipulations. Experience using devices like the Arduino Uno, the Pixy Cam, IR sensors, ultrasonic sensors, several different DC motors, AC motors, motor controllers, and pneumatic control systems.
Advanced understanding and skills in using Google Suite, including Google Docs, Slides, Sheets, Forms, Sites, Drive, and Photos.
Experience leading others in both engineering and non-engineering environments. Specifically experience in a robotics team and rover design and fabrication team, as well as leadership of research and advocacy projects.
Experience in team environments in both engineering and non-engineering capacities. Including robotics team settings, engineering teams that worked on designing and building rovers, and teamwork experience in research and advocacy projects and similar environments.
Enjoyment of and experience in maintaining a clean work environment, especially in an engineering setting, with storage and proper labels for tools, equipment, materials, hardware, and other such items.
